We strongly believe that spending time together as believers in Jesus outside of our Sunday services is an important part of building community. Life can get challenging and stressful, so these additional "connecting" times are offered for mutual encouragement and building friendships.

sunday school

Our Sunday school program meets at 10:00am, providing classes for toddlers through youth, as well as elective options for our adults. Classes are approximately 45 minutes. Bible stories, crafts and activities help the younger ones discover the wonders and the love of God, while Bible study and discussion in our teen and adult classes aim to increase our knowledge of God's word while discussing ways we can apply its truths and values to everyday life.

While we believe Christian education begins in the home, Sunday School provides an opportunity for children and adults alike to learn together what God has revealed and given to us in the Bible.

community groups & Bible studies

Small groups at SRCC are excellent for that "comfy & casual" atmosphere. The weekly meetings are held in various members' homes and are rich with quality devotion and Bible study. If you enjoy deep discussion and fellowship with good friends, a small group is perfect for you.

prayer

Christianity is not a religion that operates or grows through the ingenuity or efforts of human beings, but by the Spirit and power of God. Christians by biblical definition are individuals who have entered into a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ, who seek not only to fulfill the mission of making disciples and teaching them what Jesus taught, but to grow closer to Jesus themselves. A vital part of growing is spending time privately and corporately in prayer with the Lord.

Each Wednesday morning at 9:00am, members of our congregation gather at the church building simply to pray for the ministry God has entrusted to us, for specific needs in our congregation and community, for missionaires and Christan workers in other regions and countries, and even for ourselves, confessing our weaknesses and failures and our constant need for God to counsel and strengthen us and increase our faith.

Those who gather for our Thursday evening Bible Study also include prayer as part of their time together.

We know that it is only as we walk with God and rely on Him and call on Him to come and use us and work among us that our ministry will prosper and be effective.

music from the heart

Our congregation has long been known as 'the singing church'. Offering praise to God through music and song continues to be a central component of our weekly gatherings.

Our Sunday morning service is primarily contemporary in its musical flavour, with a few of the timeless hymns of the church mixed in. We recently introduced an evening of just praise music called E.P.I.C. (Evening of Praise in Christ). We host this on the second Sunday of each month. We also present musical cantatas during both the Christmas season and during the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. And occasionally our gatherings are blessed by special music from our Kids for Christ Choir, soloists, duets and others wishing to share a song that God has laid on their heart.

SRCC has been blessed by God with so many willing and talented musicians and singers who offer their gifts and skills to the Lord regularly. This includes a dedicated committee who meet weekly to plan and organize our Sunday services, who prayerfully seek to make our Sunday gatherings a time where God is the cneter and audience of our praise.

We invite you to join us and add your voice to ours as we offer songs of praise to the Lord.
